Pulsed Power

Pulsed Power

Ktech is the nation’s premier provider of pulsed power services. Our pulsed power work force is the largest in the nation and has a proven track record on the largest, most complex pulsed power projects in the world. We offer a unique set of capabilities using technologies involving high temperatures, high pressures, pulsed radiation, very short measurement duration, and transient, real-time analyses of physical phenomena. Our team can develop your idea from conceptualization to finished product, serving as your one-stop shop for pulsed power products and services.

Our active employees have more than 1,800 man years combined experience in pulsed power, including the collaborative design and development of multi-megavolt, pulsed power simulators such as DOE/Sandia National Laboratories’ HERMES III, Saturn and Z; the three largest above ground radiation accelerators. We are a strategic partner with Sandia National Laboratories (SNL), providing technical support to the Pulsed Power Sciences Center and the Radiation Sciences Center.

Our Pulsed Power Division is comprised of a Pulsed Power Operations Group and Applied Physics and Testing Group. The 160-person Pulsed Power Operations Group provides engineering, operations and maintenance for large government pulsed power research and development facilities. The Applied Physics and Testing Group’s 20+ staff members provide critical research, development and radiation effects testing in support of DOE's Stockpile Stewardship mission.
