Satellite Systems Programming
Since 1995, Ktech has supported the maintenance and operation of the installed Nuclear System Ground Data Processing (NSGDP) project with software designed specifically for their satellites. The NSGDP satellites look for nuclear bursts globally and are vitally important to national defense. Working with the DSP and GPS ground stations, the software obtains the data from the satellites and converts it into reports for the Air Force.
Ktech's NSGDP services fall into two broad areas: Maintenance Support and Operational Support.
Maintenance Support
- The Maintenance team analyzes and fixes software problems detected in the ground station software, and schedules deliveries of modifications prioritized by the Air Force.
- The Tech Reps team puts in long hours to deliver major design enhancements to accommodate the new CXD sensor capabilities on recently launched satellites.
-
Software has also been redesigned to accommodate new antennas.
- Ktech is responsible for the modification, publication, and distribution of documentation releases that accompany any new deliveries of the software
Operational Support
- Ktech has trained almost all the GSSEs (Ground Station System Engineers) in Colorado in operation of the software.
- Ktech backs up the GSSEs to cover vacations and emergencies, communicates with them daily to resolve operational problems and helps locate and ship replacement parts when necessary.
- Along with the training and support of the GSSEs at the site, the team supports on-orbit tests, writing tools for collecting and analyzing data and working some very long and odd hours, depending on when the satellites are in view.
