Robotic Systems Development and Integration

Products and Services

Our hands-on experience with robots include Motoman, Schilling, PAR gantry, Puma, Cincinnati Milacron, Automatix, Clayhill, and custom, highly redundant robots. In addition to our robot experience, we have worked closely with these companies in the past during robot systems development.

Robotic Coating Systems

Members of our Robotic Systems Department have experience with the design, development, and integration of robotic coating systems applying specialty coatings to stealth aircraft and military hardware. These projects include the development and deployment of multi-robot systems complete with registration sensors, automated path planning, Open Architecture Controllers, advanced robot calibration techniques, and in-process and post-process validation sensors.

Automated, Robot-assisted Coating Validation and Inspection

Our staff is experienced with the design, development, and integration of custom sensors for measuring coating deposition on both metallic and composite substrates, coating adhesion, surface contaminants, and coated-surface topologies. In addition to post-process sensor integration, our staff is developing in-process coating sensors for measuring real-time coating application compatible with Open Architecture Controllers.

Custom Kinematics and Control for Manipulators

Our staff has developed custom kinematics and control software for both commercially-available robots and custom manipulators. These routines have enabled standard robots to be used as Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMMs).

Robot and Motion Controllers

Ktech has experience with robot and motion controllers from Cimetrix, Trellis, Motoman (Yaskawa), Schilling, Allen Bradley, Steady State Automation, Unimation, and CIMROC.

Open Architecture Controllers

After spending years operating commercial robots with closed or proprietary controllers, our staff assisted Sandia National Laboratories in developing, integrating, and deploying Sandia-developed Ppen Architecture Controllers for robot and telerobotic applications. Today, a variety of Open Architecture Controllers (OACs) are commercially-available for use in your robotic or automation project. Our staff is well qualified with several commercially-available OACs such as Cimetrix CODE, Trellis, Steady-State Automation, etc.
