Ultrafast Closure Valve

Applied Physics and Testing has developed ultrafast closure technology for the prime closure of debris mitigation systems for PRS. The UCV is an explosively-driven system. When the explosive is detonated it spalls the inner layer of the closure tube which then collapses inward to form a tight seal. The closure tube and explosives are placed inside a steel containment vessel which fully contains the detonation products and vents to atmosphere.
