Ktech Corporation - Research Facility OperationsWhat We've DoneKtech has been providing operations, maintenance and engineering (OM&E) support to a variety of government clients for over 25 years. We supply our clients with turnkey solutions to the operations of large research facilities used to support mission-critical programs. We currently support the following facilities for the Department of Energy (DOE).
Pulsed Power Research CenterWe have been providing OM&E support to Sandia National Laboratory's Pulsed Power Research Center continuously since 1979. This work has involved managing a technical staff of more than 150 employees. We have made major contributions to the construction, operation, maintenance and engineering of all pulsed power research facilities built at Sandia, including:
Shock Thermodynamic Applied Research (STAR) FacilityFor the past 15 years, Ktech has provided OM&E support to Sandia's Shock Thermodynamic Applied Research (STAR) Facility. This facility consists of a powder gun, an air gun, an experimental railgun, a 2-stage light gas gun, a 3-stage gas gun and a terminal ballistic facility. These systems are capable of accelerating 12- to 75-mm projectiles to velocities between 1 and 12 km/s. For the STAR facility, in addition to providing a fully functional facility for experiments, Ktech personnel are also responsible for experiment design, target fabrication, diagnostics, data acquisition and analysis, and ES&H compliance.
